BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: Provides health care to patients in the office setting. Works in consultation, with a collaborative physician. Functions according to the established standards and practices of medicine for Advanced Practice Practitioner in the State of New York
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.
- Assesses health conditions and collects patient data through use of means such as interviews, observation and elimination.
- Identifies the need for additional data collection including the need for data collection from other health providers.
- Documents findings and actions appropriately in the patient’s medical records.
- Performs evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations when necessary.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations and CME’s
- Performs related work as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Degree and Board Certification in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required. Experience: A minimum of 1 to 3 years’ work experience as an Advanced Practitioner is preferred.
Must understand general insurance protocols and applicable billing guidelines and regulations.
Professional verbal and written communication skills are required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, team: members and the public.
Ability for analytical and critical thinking and solid problem solving is essential.
