Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician assistantSetting: Urgent Care and Primary Care ServicesReports To: Medical Director / Lead PAPosition Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Per DiemJob Summary: Deliver high-quality, efficient, and compassionate episodic care to pediatric and adult patients in a fast-paced Urgent Care setting. Operating either independently or collaboratively within a healthcare team, the Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a diverse range of non-life-threatening acute illnesses, minor injuries, occupational and primary care health conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct focused physical exams, compile accurate medical histories, and evaluate patients of all ages.
  • Diagnostic Management: Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests including point-of-care labs, EKGs, and X-rays.
  • Clinical Procedures: Perform minor outpatient procedures such as suturing lacerations, incision and drainage (I&D), splinting/casting, and digital blocks.
  • Treatment Planning: Formulate evidence-based care pathways, prescribe necessary medications, and coordinate referrals to specialists or higher levels of care when indicated.
  • Occupational Medicine: Manage workers’ compensation cases, perform pre-employment screenings, and conduct DOT physicals.
  • Documentation: Maintain timely, precise chart notes within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system using structured SOAP formats.
  • Patient Education: Communicate diagnoses and discharge instructions clearly to patients and families to support recovery and health promotion.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program or School of Nursing.
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted state license to practice as a PA or NP.
  • Certification: Board certification required (NCCPA for PAs; AANP or ANCC Family Nurse Practitioner certification for NPs to ensure pediatric scope).
  • Credentials: Active DEA registration and state prescriptive authority.
  • Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or PALS preferred.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during 12-hour shifts.
  • Fast-paced clinical environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay: $88,384.02 – $106,440.97 per year
