Schedule

Full time with four 10 hour shifts per week with on call (telephone call from home) responsibilities. May consider part time for experienced APPs.

Responsibilities

The Complex Care Center (CCC) provides person-centered and coordinated interdisciplinary care to adults with complex pediatric onset conditions, including but not limited to intellectual/developmental disabilities, sickle cell disease, cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy, and muscular dystrophy. Interdisciplinary clinical services at the CCC include primary care, dentistry, physical/respiratory therapies, dietician, and behavioral health. The CCC is also home to URMC’s adult cystic fibrosis and adult sickle cell disease programs.

Primary responsibilities our acute care APP include direct patient care within our infusion center and providing inpatient consultation to patients with complex childhood-onset illnesses during their hospitalizations. This includes performing (a) acute evaluations in our infusion center, (b) inpatient consultation for acutely ill patients, (c) coordination and follow-up of diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, and procedures, and (d) prescribing medications. APP mentoring and support will be provided to all new hires. All APPs will complete a structured orientation/onboarding program to help position them for success in this role.

National certification as Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant registered in New York State. Preferred one year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner/PA. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 44.71 – $67.07

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined byconsidering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
