Full Job Description
- The NP-ICU/PA Critical Care will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary critical care unit.
- The NP-ICU/PA Critical Care will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to critically ill patients and their families.
- Provides inpatient medical care for critically ill patients requiring ICU level of care.
- Works in collaboration with intensivist physicians, attending physicians, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience.
Master’s degree in nursing – OR- successful completion of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Physician Assistant (PA) Education program. National board certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), current. -OR – National Commission on Certification (NCCPA) of Physician Assistants, current.
- Licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner, current -OR – Michigan Medical Practice Board as a Physician Assistant, current.
- Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license, current.
- National Provider Identification number, current.
- Basic and advanced cardiac life support (BLS / ACLS) certification, current.
- Cardiothoracic and vascular, critical care or surgical experience is preferred.
- Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
