Detroit Recovery Project, Inc. (DRP) is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) that provides outpatient recovery support services for those with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. We treat the whole person through our integrated programs of primary medical and behavioral healthcare.
Our program philosophy is rooted in developing a healthy recovery ecosystem for those seeking long-term recovery. Through strong therapeutic relationships with our clients, helping them to understand the underlying social and emotional issues that drive their substance use, the recovery ecosystem focuses on five key areas:

What we’re looking for:
DRP is currently seeking a part-time or full-time Physician Assistant. The Physician’ Assistant, working under the supervision of the VP of Operations, will diagnose, treat, and manage patients with substance use disorders and related medical conditions. The Physician’s Assistant will collaborate with the medical team to ensure the highest quality of patient care and contribute to the overall success of the organization’s recovery programs.
Compensation: This position pays up to $90,000 per year for full-time and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.
The Ideal candidate will:
  • Conduct comprehensive medical assessments of patients with substance use disorders
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the medical team
  • Prescribe medications and treatments based on patient needs and medical guidelines
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Provide patient education on addiction, recovery, and medical management
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests as required for patient care
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain medical records
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, therapists, and counselors
  • Participate in medical rounds, case conferences, and team meetings
  • Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • State licensure as a Physician Assistant
  • Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in addiction medicine or behavioral health
  • Strong knowledge of addiction treatment and recovery practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid and unrestricted State of Michigan Driver’s License and insurance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
