Full Job Description

Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders, and interprets tests, makes diagnoses, and institutes appropriate treatment programs. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other medical care team members to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor¿s Degree or Completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National. Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current ACLS or BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.

Education/Training
a. NP – Completion of a NP training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the national League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
b. PA – Completion of a PA training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the PA (ARC-PA)
2. Certification
a. NP – Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan
b. PA – Certification by National Commission on Certification of PAs (NCCPA)
3. Michigan Licensure
4. DEA/CSL as required through credentialing
7. EPIC Experience, preferred
8. BLS / ACLS
9. Spanish Language Proficiency, encouraged
