Job SummaryWe are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Infectious Disease Advanced Practice Provider — PA-C or NP — to join our innovative healthcare team. In this role, you will deliver expert infectious disease care across inpatient, telehealth, and post-acute settings, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for patients with complex infectious conditions.
The APP will also support physician-led Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) activities at our partner hospitals — assisting with data interpretation, reinforcing stewardship recommendations at the bedside, and contributing to ongoing efforts to optimize antimicrobial use and combat resistance.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments — history-taking, physical examination, and vital sign evaluation — for individuals presenting with infectious diseases across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising ID physicians and multidisciplinary team members, utilizing evidence-based practices
- Manage medication administration including antibiotics, antivirals, and immunizations, with careful attention to dosing, drug interactions, and monitoring for adverse effects
- Order, collect, and interpret diagnostic evaluations — laboratory specimens, cultures, imaging, and serologies — and apply appropriate ICD-10 coding for all clinical encounters
- Support physician-led ASP initiatives at assigned facilities — assist with antimicrobial utilization data review, reinforce stewardship recommendations at the bedside, and contribute to clinician education and guideline implementation efforts
- Coordinate OPAT and home infusion therapy in partnership with home health agencies, including remote lab monitoring and regimen adjustments
- Provide patient and family education on infection prevention, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications to promote long-term health and wellness
- Document all clinical encounters accurately and efficiently within Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks EHR systems in full compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects aligned with practice and network standards
Qualifications
- Current Georgia PA-C or NP (FNP-C, AGACNP, or AGPCNP) license in good standing
- NCCPA certification (PAs) or ANCC/AANP certification (NPs)
- Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain
- 1–2 years minimum in hospital medicine, internal medicine, or acute care — ID-specific experience a strong plus; strong ID rotation considered for new graduates
- Familiarity with antimicrobial stewardship principles and ASP metrics (DOT, DDD, antibiograms) preferred; willingness to engage actively in physician-led stewardship activities required
- Strong foundational knowledge of microbiology, pharmacology, and diagnostic evaluation relevant to infectious disease
- Familiarity with OPAT protocols, IV antibiotic monitoring, and home health coordination preferred
- Proficiency with Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks EHR systems; comfort with telemedicine platforms
- Comfortable with regular travel across a multi-facility service area as a routine expectation of the role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — referring physicians, pharmacists, home health nurses, and hospital quality teams are key collaborators
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient education, and infection prevention principles
- Genuine interest in infectious disease — structured ID and ASP onboarding provided
Pay: $100,000.00 – $200,000.00 per year
