As an Outpatient Psychiatry Physician Assistant (PA), you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive psychiatric services, including patient assessments, medication management, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention. Duties

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for outpatient clients across various age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, psychotherapy (such as psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy), and crisis management strategies.
  • Manage medication regimens responsibly while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
  • Provide mental health counseling and psychotherapy to support patients dealing with PTSD, addiction issues, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health concerns.
  • Collaborate closely with supervising physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to reach patients remotely while adhering to medical records standards and data collection protocols.
  • Assist with intake procedures, post-residency evaluations, and ongoing patient monitoring to support continuous care delivery.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in outpatient mental health clinics or hospital settings is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pediatric psychiatry, geriatrics, or behavioral health populations is desirable.
  • Experience with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and crisis management techniques is essential.
  • Proven ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or trauma-related conditions such as PTSD is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, psychiatric diagnostic evaluation tools, and electronic health record systems is required.
  • Post-residency experience in psychiatry or related fields enhances your candidacy; clinical experience in inpatient or outpatient settings is valued.
