As a Senior Physician Assistant II, you’ll be an integral part of our dynamic team, working in various practice settings to deliver exceptional diagnostic and therapeutic care.

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Care
  • Provide comprehensive assessment, triage, and management of patient needs across inpatient, ambulatory, and outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate closely with attending physicians to develop and implement patient treatment plans.
  • Perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, manage treatment plans, and prescribe medications within scope of practice and institutional guidelines.
  • Serve as a vital member of the surgical team, offering assistance in operative cases when applicable.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations within YNHHS parameters.
  • Patient Education & Psychosocial Support
  • Educate patients and their families on care instructions, treatment plans, and available resources.
  • Offer compassionate psychosocial support to patients and their loved ones.
  • Information Management
  • Ensure accurate and secure documentation of patient information in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Quality Management
  • Uphold the highest standards of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, and patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Professional Development
  • Engage in ongoing projects to enhance professional competency.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for new staff and participate in service-specific orientations.
  • Actively contribute to research and quality assurance initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a PA, with at least 6 months within YNHHS.
  • Endorsed for promotion via the APP Career Ladder process.

Licensure:

  • Active PA Certification by the NCCPA.
  • Connecticut State Physician Assistant License.
  • ACLS/BLS Certified.
  • DEA License (when indicated).
  • PALS Certification (when indicated for pediatric care).
  • NRP Certification (when indicated for neonatal care).

Additional Information:

  • This Greenwich-based position offers a schedule of 4 x 10 hour days.
  • Preference for candidates with robotic experience in the OR and/or urologic experience of at least one year.
  • New graduates or those with less experience are also encouraged to apply.
