Full Job Description
# Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) — Nephrology | Full-Time or Independent Contractor
**Dallas Renal Group | Dallas, TX**
**Pay: $112,000 – $140,000 per year (full-time employed); competitive production-based compensation for contractor positions, discussed during the interview process**
## Join Our Family at Dallas Renal Group (DRG)!
Dallas Renal Group is a leading provider of comprehensive nephrology services — including in-center and home hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, kidney transplant care, CKD management, and vascular access care — serving patients across Texas and Oklahoma. We are expanding and seeking skilled, compassionate acute care Nurse Practitioners to join our team, either as full-time employees or as independent contractors, depending on your preference.
## The Role
You will provide advanced practice services in collaboration with our nephrologists across three settings:
– **Dialysis rounding** — monthly visits on an assigned panel of in-center ESRD patients, including annual assessments
– **CKD clinic** — outpatient follow-up visits for chronic kidney disease patients
– **Inpatient care** — hospital and rehabilitation facility visits where you hold privileges
We begin every new APP with a paid, structured orientation — a full rotation through our dialysis panel alongside our physicians — so you learn our patients, facilities, and workflows before taking on your own schedule.
## Two Ways to Join
– **Full-time employed (W-2):** salary with our complete benefits package — 401(k) with matching, health, dental, and vision insurance, HSA, life insurance, paid time off, and professional development support.
– **Independent contractor (1099):** production-based compensation with genuine schedule flexibility — ideal for an experienced APP who wants meaningful nephrology work on a flexible schedule with income that grows with the panel you carry. Practice-paid professional liability coverage (including tail) and facility credentialing fees.
## Why Choose DRG?
– **Family-oriented culture:** at DRG, you’re not just a provider — you’re a valued member of our family. We prioritize teamwork, collaboration, and mutual support.
– **Full-spectrum nephrology:** dialysis, CKD, transplant, and vascular access under one roof — real variety and real professional growth.
– **Transparent compensation:** clear, understandable structures with monthly reporting — you always know where you stand.
– **Professional growth:** ongoing training, mentorship from experienced nephrologists, and opportunities for advancement in a rapidly growing practice.
– **State-of-the-art facilities:** the latest technology and resources to deliver high-quality care.
## Qualifications
– Active, unrestricted Texas RN and APRN licensure with **Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP (AGACNP) certification** — required for inpatient rounding privileges; this role is not open to FNP-certified candidates
– National board certification; ability to obtain prescriptive authority and DEA registration
– Ability to obtain privileges at area dialysis facilities and hospitals
– Acute care, ICU, or dialysis experience strongly preferred
– Strong documentation discipline — complete, billing-ready notes
