Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our weight loss team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive patient care. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality, patient-centered services while collaborating with our physician and support staff. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize a broad skill set, including teaching, endocrinology, behavioral health, and more, to improve patient outcomes and enhance the overall weight loss experience. The position is part time and would include hours from 8am-1pm on Saturday.
Duties
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and develop individualized care plans.
- Perform advanced procedures including blood draws, EKG, Metabolic analysis, and adherence to sterile techniques.
- Utilize electronic health record (EMR) systems for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT).
- Administer medications and injections responsibly while monitoring for adverse reactions; provide medication management and education.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing and specimen collection/processing to inform clinical decisions.
- Engage in telehealth consultations to extend care access; participate in case management, discharge planning, utilization review, and follow-up care.
- Support diverse patient populations with weight loss needs.
- Provide education on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medications, disease prevention, and exercise.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license with current certification to practice in the state of Ohio
- Valid DEA number and prescribing capabilities.
- Strong familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner or eClinicalWorks; proficiency in ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding; utilization review knowledge is
- Hands-on skills in procedures like EKG and venipuncture (phlebotomy)
- Knowledge of pharmacology related to weight loss and ability to administer injections safely.
- Familiarity with weight loss medications like GLP-1 and oral diet medication.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; understanding of HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
