Full Job Description
Dayton Kidney is a privately owned nephrology group seeking a clinically strong Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing team providing inpatient hospital rounding and outpatient dialysis care.
This position works closely with nephrologists to manage hospitalized patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, dialysis needs, and related conditions. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a fast-paced hospital environment, enjoys autonomy, and values collaborative, patient-centered care. Our physicians provide strong support while allowing the NP/PA to practice independently within their scope.
Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient rounding on nephrology patients
- Evaluate and manage patients with:
- Acute kidney injury (AKI)
- Chronic kidney disease (CKD)
- Electrolyte disorders
- Hypertension
- Dialysis-related complications
- Provide coverage in hospital settings and outpatient dialysis units as assigned
- Assess dialysis patients before, during, and after treatments
- Manage dialysis-related issues including:
- Volume status
- Access concerns
- Blood pressure management
- Lab abnormalities
- Collaborate with nephrologists, dialysis staff, hospitalists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Write and manage dialysis-related orders, including medication adjustments and treatment parameters
- Review dialysis adequacy, laboratory results, and clinical trends
- Obtain histories, perform physical exams, and document in the EMR
- Participate in care coordination and discharge planning
- Provide patient education related to kidney disease and dialysis modalities
- Participate in shared weekend call rotation
Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Prior inpatient or nephrology experience preferred, but motivated candidates with strong clinical backgrounds will be considered
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment
- Comfortable traveling between facilities

Pay: From $155,000.00 per year
