The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

NP/PA

Monday-Friday 8hrs days.

The Imaging APP is expected to develop proficiency across a broad range of imaging applications to support diagnostic problem-solving involving multiple body systems, consistent with their education, training, and experience. Responsibilities include preparing and documenting imaging studies for interpretation under the supervision and guidance of a licensed Radiologist. The APP collaborates with Radiologists, Imaging staff, nurses, technologists, and other members of the Imaging Sciences team to promote high-quality, patient-centered care and operational excellence.

Essential Duties

Drafts preliminary interpretations of CT, US, and/or X-ray to review with a supervising Diagnostic Radiologist. Protocols CT and MRI examinations and audits MRI patient safety screening forms to ensure compliance with established safety standards. Supports the clinical care team, including Imaging technologists and nurses, in the assessment and management of IV contrast reactions. Supports the clinical care team by answering, triaging, and responding to provider and Imaging staff calls, questions, and clinical inquiries. Demonstrates excellence in advanced clinical practice through comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of actual or potential patient care needs. Promotes and incorporates current evidence-based practice to support quality improvement and advancement of patient care within Imaging Sciences. Participates in departmental quality, safety, and operational improvement initiatives as appropriate. Contributes to the education and onboarding of APPs, students, trainees, and new staff through teaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing. Maintains ongoing professional development and competency in imaging-related clinical practice and technologies.

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
