Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team at Reno Tahoe Women’s Health. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and assist with medical procedures in an gynecology office. Your expertise will ensure smooth clinic flow, accurate documentation, and compassionate service to every patient. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your skills directly impact patient outcomes and overall clinic efficiency.

Duties

  • Perform patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, including medication administration, and basic life support techniques
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately by documenting patient encounters, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and treatment plans
  • Conduct patient education on treatment protocols, medication usage, and post-visit care instructions
  • Prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies and sterilize equipment following infection control standards
  • Support administrative functions including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical documentation support

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and gynecology practice
  • Experience working in OB/GYN
  • Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation and ICD coding accuracy
  • Ability to perform vital signs collection and patient intake efficiently
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols within scope of practice
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in emergency medicine or hospital medicine preferred
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments such as outpatient clinics or hospital floors
