Full Job Description

Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, specifically within an urgent care setting. As the Provider, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality healthcare services, conducting clinical assessments, and developing treatment plans for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform procedures including (but not limited to) laceration repair, abscess I&D, and referrals to medical/surgical specialists
  • Ability to work independently, while also understanding when it’s appropriate to ask for help or medical guidance
  • Interpret EKGs
  • Explain procedures and test results, prescribe treatments/prescriptions
  • Notate findings in treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes. Use EMR system appropriately and accurately.
  • Follow infection control protocols, CDC guidelines, OSHA regulations, and HIPPA regulations.
  • No major trauma, however, seriously ill patients may require stabilization and transfer to ER
  • Performing complete physical examinations of patients including, but not limited to, examination of the head, eyes, ears, nose, throat, abdomen, limbs, and all systems of the body including but not limited to, the circulatory, reproductive and nervous system.
  • Counsel patients regarding medical and other problems which might affect patient’s health and well-being.
  • Perform such clinical procedures for patient’s benefit which are within the scope of and skill of the provider.
  • Prepare forms, letters, and examinations on behalf of patients for injuries, illnesses, worker’s compensation, etc.
  • Provide direction and leadership to the clinic’s medical support staff, with regard to the administering of a patient’s care.
  • Perform other job related duties, as may be assigned or directed, by the Medical Director.

NP’s: Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing, Certification as a Nurse Practitioner, Valid State Licensure

PA’s: Degree from an Accredited Physician Assistant program plus NCCPA certification, Valid State Licensure

State and Federal licensure requirements, BLS certification, DEA understanding, familiar with appropriately diagnosing and coding visits.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN

Pay: From $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 36 per week
