Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and long-term care facilities. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality, compassionate care while collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize a broad skill set, including critical care, gastroenterology, behavioral health, and to improve patient outcomes and enhance the overall healthcare experience.

Position Details

  • Monday–Friday
  • Patient care hours: 8:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.–3:30 p.m.
  • Approximately 30–35 hours per week, including patient care, charting, administrative responsibilities, meetings, and additional clinic coverage as needed.
  • Employment arrangement: 1099 independent contractor
  • No weekends

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat adult patients in an outpatient primary care setting
  • Perform comprehensive and follow-up examinations
  • Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret laboratory testing, imaging, and other diagnostic studies
  • Prescribe medications within the provider’s legal scope of practice
  • Manage acute illnesses and chronic medical conditions
  • Provide preventive care, health screenings, and patient education
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up care when appropriate
  • Work independently and confidently while collaborating with the supervising or collaborating physician as required by Texas law and clinic policies
  • Follow all HIPAA, clinical, and patient-safety requirements

Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Current prescribing authority and DEA registration, if applicable
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum of one year of outpatient clinical experience required
  • Primary care or internal medicine experience strongly preferred
  • Confident evaluating and treating patients without extensive clinical training
  • Comfortable managing a primarily adult patient population aged 40 and older
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and time-management skills
  • Ability to learn the clinic’s EMR system and workflow.
