Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care services across diverse patient populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The ideal candidate will possess a broad clinical background, demonstrating expertise in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management within a collaborative practice environment. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to establish accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and manage treatment regimens in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems for comprehensive medical documentation and medical records management.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across specialties—including behavioral health, geriatrics, and emergency medicine—to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Provide health coaching, patient education, and preventive care services tailored to individual needs.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance clinical practices and patient outcomes.
- Manage acute care situations including triage in urgent care settings while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Skills
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and order entry.
- Proficiency in performing clinical procedures including suturing.
- Knowledge of pharmacology principles for medication administration and drug interactions; familiarity with DEA regulations for prescribing controlled substances.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and medical terminology relevant to primary care practice.
- Experience managing diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to perform complex assessments such as vital signs monitoring, physical examinations, tube feeding management, ventilator support, and infection control measures.
