Part-Time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Pediatric People is seeking a compassionate, experienced part-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing pediatric team. The ideal candidate is a confident clinician with excellent communication skills who is passionate about providing high-quality, family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and medical evaluations.
- Diagnose and treat common pediatric illnesses and injuries.
- Provide preventive care, including well-child visits and routine health maintenance.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on evidence-based practice.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
- Accurately document patient encounters and maintain medical records using the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure exceptional patient care.
- Perform other clinical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current Texas licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Pediatric experience, primary and urgent care, is required.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medical management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and staff.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
Schedule
This is a part-time position. Candidates must be available to:
- Work 2-3 days per week (Monday-Friday: 8am-6pm).
- Work up to one weekend per month (Saturday: 9am-1pm; Sunday: 2-5pm).
- Participate in a rotating holiday schedule.
