Job OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies to ensure smooth operations.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
- Operate digital imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools to support accurate diagnoses.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Dentrix or Epic efficiently, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures using aseptic techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by following infection control standards and sterilization procedures.
- Support administrative tasks such as dental receptionist duties, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow.
- Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care, and preventive practices to promote oral health literacy.
- Collaborate with the team in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency during procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient medical records and sensitive information.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and working with pediatric patients is preferred.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently.
- Strong understanding of medical documentation practices, including medical coding and record-keeping standards.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with patients of all ages and team members.
- Certification in radiography (X-ray) required; additional certifications in endodontics or prosthodontics are a plus.
