Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Express Care clinic in Hayesville, North Carolina. This full-time position offers a consistent 7-on/7-off day shift schedule, providing an excellent balance between professional responsibilities and personal time. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced outpatient environment and be committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals of all ages. In this role, the Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients presenting with a wide range of acute, non-life-threatening conditions. Responsibilities include conducting thorough patient histories and physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as laboratory work and imaging, and developing appropriate treatment plans. The provider will prescribe medications as needed, perform minor procedures including wound care, suturing, and splinting, and provide clear patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care. The provider will work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective coordination and continuity of care. Accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record is essential, along with adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and quality guidelines. The role also involves contributing to a supportive team environment and participating in quality improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes and clinic performance.Education:Required:
BSN required; MSN required. Successful completion of advanced practitioner training and certification as a practitioner (general or specialized) from an approved nurse practitioner program or Physician Assistant program and hold currently or eligible licensure in the state of North CarolinaPreferred:Experience:
Previous experience in urgent care, emergency medicine or primary care is preferred, along with strong clinical judgement, procedural skills and excellent communication abilities is preferred. New grads are welcomed.Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/RegistrationRequired:
Current, unrestricted North Carolina or compact state registered nurse license. Current North Carolina license as an advanced registered nurse practitioner with prescriptive authority. BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward
The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a North Carolina license. However, the North Carolina nursing license will be a single state license for North Carolina Residents or non-compact state residents. North Carolina licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-North Carolina residents.Department Position Summary:
