- Overview Position Summary and Requirements
- Role: Highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Interventional Pain Management team.
- Start Date: Immediate need due to unfortunate team member family emergency, with a target start of January 2, 2026, and possibly the week of January 5-9, 2026.
- Scope: Provide comprehensive patient care across diverse settings, including acute care, outpatient clinics, and specialized fields such as gastroenterology, geriatrics, and behavioral health.
- Essential Qualifications: Extensive clinical experience and demonstrated proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, specifically Athena Health, Epic and eClinicalWorks.
- Valued Experience: Prior experience in telehealth, hospital medicine, or post-acute care is highly desirable.
- Operational Standards: The role mandates collaboration, adherence to evidence-based practice, and strict compliance with HIPAA and NCQA standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment and Treatment: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and vital signs monitoring. Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for diverse populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and specialty areas (e.g., hospice & palliative medicine).ons such as airway management and ventilator support when necessary.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure accurate medical documentation using various Athenahealth and maintain compliance with established medical and documentation standards.
- Patient Education: Offer comprehensive education on health coaching, nutrition, medication administration, family planning, discharge protocols, and post-acute care strategies.
- Diagnostic and Billing: Participate in diagnostic evaluations utilizing laboratory and medical imaging interpretation, and accurately interpret ICD-10 and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Engage in case management activities (utilization review, discharge planning) if needed and collaborate effectively with specialists across various medical fields.
- Safety and Telehealth: Maintain a safe clinical environment through infection control and sterile processing, and support telehealth initiatives via remote consultations.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Advanced proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks).
- Strong foundational and applied knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective multidisciplinary team collaboration and adherence to outpatient clinic procedures and protocols.
Job Types: PRN, Temp-to-hire, Seasonal
Pay: $60.00 – $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
