We are seeking a Part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to become a part of our Houston area team
The position is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, providing treatment plans, prescribing medication therapy, and offering counsel across the lifespan.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illnesses
- Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients
- Must be willing to treat Children, Adolescent and Adult populations
- Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
- Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care
- Maintain a customer-oriented approach to meeting patient needs in an expedient manner, involving the family in the plan of care as appropriate.
- Document in a timely manner and signs off on clients’ charts
- Comfortable with providing care via telemedicine platform.
- Timely Documentation in EHR
Qualifications:
- PMHNP Certified
- DEA is a plus
- Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration and physicians
- Strong leadership skills
- Stress resistant
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
