Job Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing obesity medicine team. This is a hybrid position, requiring a mix of in-office and remote work. The in-office component will be at our Carrollton, TX location, with office hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The position will involve 10-20 hours of work per week, with at least 1-2 days required in-office (50%).
The ideal candidate will have a passion for obesity management, preventative care, and a collaborative approach to patient care. You will work directly with patients to evaluate, diagnose, and treat obesity-related health conditions, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with obesity and related co morbidities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans, incorporating nutritional guidance, physical activity recommendations, behavioral therapies, and pharmacological interventions.
- Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Educate patients on the health risks associated with obesity and the importance of lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, and behavioral health specialists to deliver comprehensive care.
- Conduct follow-up appointments and support patients in achieving long-term health goals.
Requirements:
- Licensed Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of Texas.
- 2+ years of work experience practicing obesity medicine and/or endocrinology.
- Must be able to independently practice in Texas.
- 2+ years of experience prescribing anti-obesity medications.
- Unrestricted DEA licensure and prescriptive authority.
- Certification by a recognized national certifying body (e.g., NCCPA for PAs, AANP or ANCC for NPs).
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage patients with complex health conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on long-term outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
