Tulsa Family Psychiatry & Wellness is focused on providing psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adults between the ages of 5-65 years old in the Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and surrounding metro areas in Oklahoma.
Job Summary:
This is a contract role for a Physician Assistant at Tulsa Family Psychiatry & Wellness. As a Physician Assistant, you will be responsible for providing quality psychiatric care to patients under the supervision of a board certified psychiatrist. Your day-to-day will include conducting assessments, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and offering appropriate psychotherapy to patients if applicable. This role is a hybrid role, based in Tulsa, OK, with flexibility for some remote work.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical knowledge and proficiency in medical psychiatry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound medical decisions
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Current valid physician assistant license
- Experience in mental health or psychiatry is an absolute requirement
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
- Masters or bachelor degree in Physician Assistant Studies
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Education And Experience
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program and possess valid Oklahoma licensure as a Physician’s Assistant. Have at least two (2) years experience in treating patients with psychiatric disorders.

Knowledge And Skills
Have a broad knowledge of psychopharmacology.
Be able to perform psychiatric evaluations and mental health status examinations.
Be able to assess patient’s physical conditions and make appropriate referrals for medical treatment.
Have a working knowledge of disorders as outlined in DSM-V (and subsequent additions/revisions) and the diagnosing and treating of such.
Have a general knowledge of the community mental health system and awareness of local referral sources.
An expectation of core competencies in relation to individuals with co-occurring disorders.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $85,000.00 – $197,600.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
