Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the clinic while adhering to strict health and safety standards. Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during various dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure infection control.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and safety protocols are followed.
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, suctioning, and managing patient comfort throughout procedures.
  • Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history accurately for each patient visit.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation.
  • Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with team members and patients.
  • Uphold infection control standards through proper sterilization techniques and adherence to OSHA guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the team on general dentistry cases as well as specialized areas like pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and orthodontics.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting practices.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy.
  • Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry.
  • Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry for efficiency during procedures.
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
  • Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist in pediatric dentistry settings when required.
