The Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead all aspects of operations and drive the continued success of The Ragtrader. This leader will be responsible for maintaining an exceptional guest experience, managing financial performance, and cultivating a high-performing team culture across both dining room and bar operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator with strong experience in high-volume restaurants, elevated bar programs, nightlife energy, and guest-driven hospitality. They understand that great restaurants are built on consistency, energy, and the ability to create a room people want to stay in.
Key Responsibilities: Lead & Inspire
Motivate, develop, and hold accountable a high-performing team that delivers exceptional hospitality, strong floor presence, and memorable guest experiences.
Operational Excellence
Oversee all daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth execution across service, bar flow, reservations, late-night business, and overall guest satisfaction.
Financial Management
Manage budgeting, labor controls, scheduling, inventory, cost control, and P&L performance while identifying opportunities for revenue growth.
Bar & Beverage Leadership
Work closely with the beverage team to maintain a strong cocktail and spirits program, drive bar sales, and ensure the bar atmosphere matches the energy and identity of the brand.
Guest Experience & Vibe Control
Own the energy of the room—music, lighting, service pace, bar engagement, and overall atmosphere. Ensure The Ragtrader consistently feels vibrant, polished, and worth returning to.
Late Night Operations
Lead strong late-night execution with a focus on service standards, guest flow, security awareness, and maintaining hospitality standards through close.
Compliance & Standards
Ensure adherence to all health, safety, liquor, and operating regulations while maintaining strong service and cleanliness standards.
Vendor & Inventory Management
Oversee purchasing, beverage inventory, and vendor relationships to maintain product quality and operational efficiency.
Marketing & Events
Support promotions, activations, private events, and community engagement efforts that drive traffic, reservations, and repeat business.

Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a General Manager or AGM in a high-volume restaurant, upscale casual concept, or nightlife-driven venue
- Strong leadership and team development skills with a passion for mentorship and accountability
- Deep understanding of bar operations, cocktails, spirits, whiskey, and hospitality-driven service
- Experience managing labor costs, scheduling, inventory, and financial performance
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with strong late-night business
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and guest relations skills
- A genuine passion for hospitality, restaurant culture, and creating unforgettable experiences
