LeaderStat is seeking 1 Primary Care Physician Assistant for a VA (Veteran’s Affairs) contract.
$65 – $70 / hour or $135,000/year – $146,000.
The contract will be a year-long assignment with services provided in the Fayetteville, NC area starting ASAP.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care. It is estimated that 5% of time not involved in direct patient care section meetings, participation in once to twice monthly peer review case review, Ongoing Providers Performance Evaluation (OPPE) participation, and morbidity & mortality conferences as appropriate.
- The PA shall be responsible for clinic appointments and follow-up of labs/imaging/procedures ordered during these appointments, interpretation, phone call consultation from hospitalists and intensivists on inpatients, and availability for case review with nurse practitioners on service.
- The PA shall be responsible for providing Family Practice and interventional Family Practice consultative services for assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to Veterans in the Primary Care team setting; outpatient include both scheduled and unscheduled Veterans.
- Order and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriate, recommend treatment and/or referral.
- Record/document health appraisal information, clinical assessments, treatment decision, plan of care, ongoing management and therapeutic outcomes, order medications, diagnostic test and referral consultations where needed for every patient encounter; recording will be accomplished using the electronic comprehensive patient record system (CPRS) and will be completed on the day of the encounter.
Qualifications
- At least two years of experience, preferably in a VA setting
- Physician Assistant, shall be Board Certified/Board Eligible Physician Services by the American Board of Family Practice and be currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.
- All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be kept up to date at all times.
