Title: Physician Assistant Start Date: 07/08/2024 End Date: 07/08/2025 # of Openings: 4 Position Type: Contract Locations: Fayetteville, NC Additional Details: VA Business Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Clinic or Operating Room (OR) Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch Length of assignment: 1 year and possible 4 year renewal depending on performance Due Date : 23rd May 2024 Note : Preference will be given to the candidate with lowest rate. Description:

  • Physician Assistant shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently
  • All candidates must have a current unencumbered license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • All candidates must be Citizen of the United States.
  • All candidates must be currently certified in VHA-approved Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalency and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications from the American Heart Association.
  • Primary Care Physician Assistants, experienced in the specialty required and has an active certification in the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and have a minimum of 5 years of experience within the last five years
  • All persons are compared against and are not listed on the OIG excluded.

Direct Patient Care: Estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care. Candidates shall be responsible for clinic appointments and follow-up of labs/imaging/procedures ordered during these appointments, interpretation, phone call consultation from hospitalists and intensivists on inpatients, and availability for case review with nurse practitioners on service. Scope of Care: Candidates shall be responsible for providing Family Practice and interventional Family Practice consultative services for: assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to Veterans in the Primary Care team setting; outpatient include both scheduled and unscheduled Veterans. Order and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriate, recommend treatment and/or referral. Record/document health appraisal information, clinical assessments, treatment decision, plan of care, ongoing management and therapeutic outcomes, order medications, diagnostic test and referral consultations where needed for every patient encounter; recording will be accomplished using the electronic comprehensive patient record system (CPRS) and will be completed on the day of the encounter.
