Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments via telehealth platforms, utilizing your expertise in clinical research, medical documentation, and patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacology and therapy options, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Manage medication administration, including injections and IV infusions when necessary, while monitoring patient responses and adjusting treatments accordingly.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with complex needs such as geriatrics, behavioral health issues, or those requiring hospice & palliative medicine.
- Utilize EMR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently, maintaining compliance with NCQA standards.
- Provide patient education on mental health conditions, medication management, and lifestyle modifications through health coaching techniques.
- Stay current with telehealth best practices and emerging trends in psychiatric nursing to deliver high-quality virtual care.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Proven experience in behavioral health, acute pain management, or hospital medicine environments; experience with Level I Trauma Centers or emergency medicine is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and medical documentation standards.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations virtually when needed.
- Critical care experience or working with individuals with disabilities enhances your ability to manage complex cases effectively.
