Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, DCUC

Reports to: Clinic Supervisor

Overview/Job Purpose:

We are seeking multiple Full-Time and Part Time/PRN Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners to work with Duke City Urgent Care. Our goal is to provide fast, friendly, quality care to the residents of New Mexico while promoting teamwork within our medical family! As a DCUC provider, you will be expected to diagnose and treat acute and subacute health conditions, as well as promote good health practices. As an advanced practice practitioner, you’ll be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible. The job description includes conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests, performing necessary procedures, and overseeing patients’ health. You’ll be both a health practitioner and an educator, responsible for providing evidence-based care, while also helping patients understand their condition and optimize their own recovery and health. Extensive clinical experience on acute care (urgent care, emergency medicine) medicine is preferred, but all experience levels will be considered. In this role, you’ll have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Patience, determination, and communication ability are important. Responsibilities

  • · Examine patients and review their medical records
  • · Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
  • · Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
  • · Prescribe medications
  • · Propose treatments for acute and subacute conditions
  • · Lead the clinical team in the occurrence of a medical emergency to stabilize patients
  • · Identify emergent conditions and facilitate transfer to an ER
  • · Perform necessary procedures
  • · Maintain accurate records and schedules
  • · Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
  • · Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics and prevention
  • · Promote good health practices
  • · Advance professional knowledge through education and collaboration

Skills

  • · Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting
  • · Expertise in acute care or primary care settings is a plus
  • · Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
  • ·Professional and respectful communication skills
  • · Strong ethics
  • · Team spirit with a positive attitude is a must
  • · Patience and poise in the face of challenge
  • · Willingness to actively continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience

· Valid nurse practitioner or PA license

  • 8 Hour weekends (10am- 6pm)

Work Location: 4 Urgent Care locations, 1 home clinic will be assigned with the majority of shifts at that location.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN

Pay: $65.00 – $80.00 per hour
