Full Job Description

Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey’s largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Department of Orthopedics at Morristown Medical Center. We are looking for a dedicated and reliable PA for a full-time inpatient opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of orthopedic experience, with some previous experience attending to emergency consults, splinting and reducing fractures and dislocations and working in the OR as a first assistant. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively with the team, have strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The primary role of the PA is to round on and care for inpatients, attend to consults in the emergency department and other inpatient units, assist in orthopedic cases, order and interpret diagnostic tests, evaluate and treat inpatients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best patient care. The team is committed to ensuring work-life balance for all staff and will work collaboratively to accommodate scheduling needs whenever possible.

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
  • Must be certified by the National Board of Certification of Orthopaedic Physician’s Assistants
  • ACLS and BLS certification required
  • 5 years of Ortho experience required
  • Must have excellent communication and computer skills
  • Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
