Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Clinical Coordinator shall provide administrative support in areas of clinical rotations, professional correspondence, and assisting the Director of Clinical Education and faculty working with clinical sites.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission of Concordia University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large;
  • Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, students, alumni, professionals and the general public;
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Education in scheduling second year PA students for the clinical year;
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Education in providing, completing and uploading new affiliation agreements;
  • Update credentials and licensing for all clinical preceptors yearly;
  • Verify current licensure for every preceptor portal re: clinical sites (student numbers at each site) and preceptors (preceptor additions/deletions and updated contact information/licensure/board certification);
  • Maintain records and student clinical year files; ensuring they are kept in locked cabinets at all times; verifying that all student performance records, disciplinary documents, and remediation documents are in the student file, and that the file is up-to-date
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Education in monitoring student progress;
  • Assist with End of Rotation days assessment/activities;
  • Provide support for program events;
  • Initiate and maintain student, alumni and professional contact databases;
  • Greet and direct visitors in a friendly and professional manner;
  • Answer and direct telephone calls;
  • Provide office support (typing, filing, copying, etc.) as required;
  • Initiate action as necessary for the handling of work items and issues particularly those related to departmental faculty, staff, and students;
  • Assist in the ongoing evaluation of the PA program; this includes attendance at weekly PA faculty meetings;
  • Maintain conscientious work ethic to include punctuality, professional dress and demeanor;
  • Assist with reviewing and completing (as asked) institutional and program accreditation reports and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of the University;
  • Promote the mission of Concordia University to all faculty, staff, and students to the community at large;
  • Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, students, alumni, professionals and the general public;
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Excellent typing skills;
  • Organization skills;
  • Computer skills with experience;
  • Application software skills such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet, E-mail, Blackboard, Typhon, etc.;
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Knowledge of basic office equipment (e.g., copiers, fax machine, etc.);
  • Ability to follow and share information regarding university policy and procedure;
  • Must maintain absolute confidentiality;
  • Proficiency in filing and general clerical functions;
  • Self-motivated, conscientious, able to work independently and as a member of a team;
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently; and
  • Work schedule flexibility.

Education and Experience

Required: Bachelor’s degree; administrative experience; excellent oral, written, organizational, and computer skills.

Preferred: Experience working in an institution of higher learning

This is a full-time, salaried exempt position. The starting wage may be determined upon education and/or experience. Concordia University benefit options include, but are not limited to the following:
