Full Job Description
Full time inpatient oncology responsibilities with once a month weekend coverage.
2 years of hospitalist experience at least required, position has inpatient and outpatient functions.
Responsibilities:- Conduct patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and review of symptoms- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work, imaging studies, and electrocardiograms- Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions- Prescribe medications and provide patient education on medication usage and potential side effects- Perform procedures such as suturing, wound care, and joint injections- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care- Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Cerner and Epic- Provide triage services to determine the urgency of patient needs and direct them to appropriate care settings
Qualifications:- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)- State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant- Strong knowledge of medical coding and billing practices- Proficiency in airway management techniques and emergency response protocols- Familiarity with aseptic technique for sterile procedures- Experience with medical imaging interpretation and diagnostic decision-making- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
