Wellspring Clinic, a physician-owned outpatient specialty practice in Bel Air, Maryland, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a collaborative clinical role in physical medicine and rehabilitation, headache medicine, chronic pain care, and related outpatient follow-up care.

This position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys longitudinal care, values careful clinical reasoning, and wants to work in a practice that emphasizes function, quality of life, and thoughtful patient management.

Position Overview

The NP or PA will provide outpatient follow-up care for patients with chronic pain, headache disorders, musculoskeletal conditions, rehabilitation needs, and other complex medical concerns seen within the practice. The role involves medication management, reassessment of treatment response and function, patient education, and coordination with the supervising physician.

This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician seeking a stable weekday outpatient role with room for professional growth in a specialty setting.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Manage follow-up visits for patients with chronic pain, headache disorders, musculoskeletal conditions, and rehabilitation-related concerns
  • Assess symptoms, function, treatment response, and adverse effects over time
  • Participate in medication management for selected chronic pain patients, including controlled-substance prescribing and monitoring within a structured, physician-led practice focused on safety, documentation, and functional outcomes
  • Reinforce treatment plans and coordinate care with the supervising physician
  • Provide patient education and counseling in a clear, compassionate, and professional manner
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and timely chart completion
  • Support continuity of care within a multidisciplinary outpatient model

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
  • Current or eligible Maryland licensure
  • Board certification appropriate to discipline
  • DEA registration or eligibility for DEA registration
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and organizational skills
  • Comfort with medically complex follow-up care in an outpatient setting

Preferred Background

  • Experience in family/internal medicine, neurology, PM&R, pain management, or other outpatient specialty practice
  • Interest in headache care, rehabilitation medicine, and chronic pain follow-up
  • Experience with medication management for chronic pain patients is helpful
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a physician-led model
  • Commitment to thoughtful, patient-centered care

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $135,000–$150,000, depending on experience
