Contractor Nurse Practitioner/Physician’s Assistant working w/ Adolescents

Description

Avery’s House is a substance abuse & mental health treatment provider for adolescents, seeking experienced, dependable, and responsible Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant.
Experience working with adolescents is preferred, and any additional experience with mental health and substance abuse.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Emphasize preventative care and disease management.
  • Practice Integrative Medicine in collaboration with the treatment team .
  • Provide education for staff on current Healthcare Related Infection risks within the agency.
  • Order and interpret tests.
  • Counsel clients on preventative care.
  • Write prescriptions.
  • Serve as a consultant to staff in reference to physical health questions or concerns that arise within the agency.
  • Diagnose and treat illness.
  • Respond to all duties in a clinically appropriate and timely manner.
  • Complete Physicals, Nutrition screens, and pain screens during client admissions.
  • Completes Physical Evaluation within 48 of new client admission.
  • Ensure necessary documentation is complete.
  • Must have a flexible schedule and PRN availability.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Graduate of an accredited Master’s or PA Program
  • Current, Unencumbered, Registered Nursing License
  • Current, Unencumbered, Advance Practice Nursing License
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant role preferred with substance abuse experience
  • Fingerprint enhanced background clearance with ID Dept of Health and Welfare (preferred- will be required to obtain)
  • CPR/First Aid certification/BLS (preferred- will be required to obtain)
  • Current TB test (will be required to obtain)
Job Type: Contract (Up to 5 hours weekly)
Pay: $90.00 – $110.00 per hour
