Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, a nationally recognized and comprehensive healthcare provider, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP)—Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)—to join our Inpatient Advanced Heart Failure and LVAD Program in a PRN capacity.
This is an exciting PRN opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team in one of Georgia’s busiest and most respected hospitals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced clinical care to patients with advanced heart failure, including those with LVADs and other mechanical circulatory support devices.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop and manage treatment plans in collaboration with cardiologists, surgeons, and other team members.
- Monitor and manage patients with LVADs, including pre- and post-implantation care, troubleshooting, and device education.
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, coordinate care transitions, and contribute to patient and family education.
- Serve as a clinical resource and educator for nursing and ancillary staff, working in collaboration with LVAD coordinator, regarding heart failure and durable LVAD management.
- Assist with development and adherence to evidence-based protocols and quality improvement initiatives within the program.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as an NP or PA in the state of Georgia.
- Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-AG)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiology or cardiac surgery, preferably with heart failure and/or LVAD patients.
- LVAD experience preferred; HeartMate 3 training a plus.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Excellent clinical, communication, and team-based care skills.
