Overview
Join Southeast Lung Associates as a Physician Assistant, a vital role dedicated to delivering pulmonary & sleep exceptional patient care across diverse medical settings ( outpatient mainly + 1 per month hospital weekend call). In this position, you will collaborate closely with physicians to provide comprehensive assessments, diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, and perform procedures. AthenaHealth a plus. M-F 8am – 5pm ( outpatient ) & 7:30am – 3pm ( hospital when on call). Pulmonary experience a plus. GA license & SC license.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews to determine health status and needs.
  • Assist in diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging, laboratory results, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Manage pulmonary and sleep conditions.
  • Provide patient education on health coaching, medication administration, pain management strategies, and preventive care practices.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems

Skills

  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as AthenaHealth,MediTech for efficient data management and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
  • Experience with critical care environments including ICU, familiarity with ventilator management and infectious disease care.
  • Ability to handle complex patient cases involving acute pain management, airway management.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding and ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate billing and documentation; understanding of medical-surgical protocols and post-acute care practices.
  • Excellent patient assessment capabilities combined with compassionate communication skills to deliver holistic care across diverse populations including neonatal ventilator management or senior care settings.
