Now Hiring: Controller
Location: Casa Ybel Resort – Sanibel Island, FloridaCasa Ybel Resort, a premier beachfront destination on beautiful Sanibel Island, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic hospitality team dedicated to excellence, guest satisfaction, and operational integrity.
Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the resort, including accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role ensures accurate financial management while supporting strategic decision-making for the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash flow
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable laws and regulations
- Oversee internal controls and audit processes
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with executive leadership to support business strategy
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or resort environments
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
