Opportunity Overview
Our well-established Pulmonary and Critical Care group in the greater Tampa Bay area is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – either an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA)to join our dynamic team. This role offers a blend of inpatient criical care, hospital ward managment, and outpatient pulmonary clinic responsibilities. We are looking for a confident, procedure-capable APP who thrives in high-acuity environments and values a collaborative, physician supportive practice.
Practice Setting
- Pulmonary & Critical Care Group (Inpatient ICU, Wards, and Outpatient Clinic)
Schedule
- 4 day work week (including weekend rotation) OR 5 weekdays with weekend off; weekend coverage expectation=2 out of 4 weekends per month
Responsibilities
- Inpatient (ICU & Wards): Perform comprehensive patient assessments in the ICU and on hospital wards. Collaborate directly with attending physicians to develop, implement, and adjust individualized plans of care.
- Critical Care Procedures: Perform basic critical care procedures including central line placement, arterial line insertion, and endotracheal intubation.
- Outpatient Clinic: Assess and manage pulmonary patients in the outpatient setting, ensuring continuity of care across the continuum.
- Schedule & Weekend Coverage: Work a 4-day-per-week schedule that includes weekend shifts, OR a 5-weekday schedule with weekends off. Must be available to cover 2 in 4 weekends (such as every other weekend) as part of the group’s rotation.
Required Qualifications
Education: Masters or Doctorate degree (MSN or DNP) OR graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
Licensure: Active Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license OR active state of Florida Physician Assistant license.
Certification:
For NPs: Board certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) through ANCC or AANP – specializing in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care.
For PAs: Current PANCE certificate from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Preferred Qualifications
- Critical care APP Certification (e.g., CCRN, FCCS, or similar)
- 2 + years of experience in pulmonary and/or critical care medicine.
