Full Job Description

Mobile Dermatology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time Location: Polk County — Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing Facilities

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our mobile dermatology team. In this role, you will provide dermatologic care directly to residents in assisted living facilities (ALFs) and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), bringing specialized skin care to a patient population that often has limited access to traditional dermatology services. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of elderly and homebound patients while enjoying the flexibility of a mobile practice model.

What You’ll Do

  • Travel to assisted living and skilled nursing facilities within your assigned territory to conduct dermatologic evaluations and treatments
  • Perform full-body skin exams, diagnose and manage common dermatologic conditions (e.g., skin cancer, dermatitis, infections, and age-related skin conditions)
  • Perform bedside procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, and lesion removals as clinically indicated
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with facility staff, primary care providers, and family members
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Educate facility staff and caregivers on skin care best practices and early identification of dermatologic concerns
  • Coordinate referrals for cases requiring further specialist evaluation or in-office procedures

Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted NP or PA license in the state(s) of practice
  • Board certification (ANCC/AANP for NPs; NCCPA for PAs)
  • Prior experience in dermatology strongly preferred; experience in geriatrics, or long-term care settings is a plus
  • Comfortable performing minor bedside dermatologic procedures
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working independently in a variety of care settings
  • Excellent documentation and time-management skills

Schedule

  • Full-time and part-time positions available
  • Flexible scheduling to fit your lifestyle
  • Daytime hours — no nights, weekends, or on-call required

Benefits

  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • CME reimbursement
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible schedule
  • Supportive team environment with administrative and scheduling support
  • Opportunity to specialize in an underserved patient population

Why Join Us

You’ll be part of a growing mobile dermatology practice dedicated to improving access to quality skin care for residents in long-term care communities. Enjoy the autonomy of a mobile role, meaningful patient relationships, and the flexibility to design a schedule that works for you — all while making a real difference in the lives of an often-overlooked patient population.
