Full Job Description

Nemours Children’s Hospital, Orlando is hiring a neonatal nurse practitioner. This position is to provide expanded collaborative and comprehensive management of newborns, including well baby and critically ill neonates of all gestational ages.: The role includes taking histories, reviewing pertinent medical records, completing physical assessments, diagnosing, and managing the care of those patients for which he/she has been assigned. The role includes preforming procedures necessary to appropriately manage and care for the neonates on the service. The providers must be comfortable educating parents, nurses and other health care providers including providing counseling, requesting and performing consultations, initiating referrals, providing appropriate handoff, discharge planning while maintaining health records.

Works weekends, night shift and holidays when requested. Will provide care on Neonatal ground and air transports when requested.

License and Certification:

  • Active Florida Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Licensure
  • Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification via National Certification Center or Board Certification via the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • AHA BLS
  • NRP
