Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring Epic proficiency, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications, and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift schedule: 3×12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Every other weekend required, or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period, based on unit needs
- No on-call requirements
- Travelers will have a home base unit but may float to other units or locations within the health system, including Cape Canaveral, Holmes Regional, Palm Bay, or Viera campuses
- Epic EMR experience required
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
Requirements
- Active FL RN license or compact RN license — no pending licenses accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of PCU or progressive care nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 professional references from authority figures (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) within the last year required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Candidates who have previously held an internal contracted position must wait 1 year after departure before being eligible
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers — no radius restriction
- Flu vaccine is required between October 31 and March 31; medical and religious exemptions are accepted
- Scrub dress code: solid color scrubs required — tops and bottoms must match in color; no logos or prints
- Time and attendance tracked via Kronos using a badge swipe system
- Free parking is provided with a decal issued at orientation
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
