Oral Surgery Physician Assistant (PA)

Position Summary: The Oral Surgery Physician Assistant (PA) works collaboratively with the oral surgeon to provide high-quality surgical and clinical care. This role includes patient evaluation, assisting in surgical procedures, and managing pre- and post-operative care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments, including medical histories and physical exams
  • Assist in oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures
  • Administer local anesthesia and monitor patients during procedures (as permitted by state law)
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the surgeon
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient education and care
  • Prescribe medications within scope of practice
  • Manage follow-up visits and monitor patient recovery
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current PA licensure in the state of practice
  • Certification by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
  • Experience in oral surgery, surgical specialties, or dentistry preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications preferred
