Job Summary
MD Marijuana Card Express is seeking a Florida-licensed Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) to join our team as an in-person certifying provider for medical cannabis evaluations and handicap parking permit evaluation services.
The physician will evaluate eligible patients, review relevant medical history, determine qualification within applicable Florida laws and clinical standards, and complete required provider documentation accurately and professionally.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person/telehealth patient evaluations for Florida medical cannabis certification services.
- Review patient medical history, qualifying conditions, and relevant documentation.
- Certify eligible patients through Florida’s Medical Marijuana Use Registry (MMUR), as applicable.
- Complete Florida handicap parking permit medical certifications when medically appropriate, including HSMV 83039 documentation.
- Conduct medical evaluations related to mobility limitations and disability parking permit eligibility under Florida requirements.
- Use sound clinical judgment to determine whether patients qualify for services.
- Complete certification forms, provider documentation, and related paperwork accurately and timely.
- Maintain professional, compassionate, and confidential patient interactions.
- Follow all applicable medical, privacy, cannabis certification, and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate with administrative staff to support a smooth patient experience.
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Florida MD or DO license.
- Current Florida medical cannabis certification/authorization to certify patients, or ability to complete the required certification before seeing patients.
- Ability to work in person at our Davie, FL clinic.
- Comfort completing medical evaluations and required documentation for medical cannabis and handicap parking permit services.
- Strong understanding of patient evaluation, medical documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Professional bedside manner and patient-centered communication style.
- Provider must comply with applicable Florida physician financial responsibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Florida medical cannabis patient certifications.
- Experience completing Florida disability parking permit forms, including HSMV 83039.
- Familiarity with Florida medical cannabis requirements and OMMU/MMUR processes.
- Experience working in a fast-paced outpatient or evaluation-based clinic setting.
- Flexible availability for scheduled clinic days.
Schedule
- Part-time position.
- Clinic is open 6 days per week.
- Minimum shift: 3 hours per day.
- Flexible scheduling based on provider availability and clinic needs.
- In-person clinic hours at our Davie, FL location.
Compensation
- $120-$130 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
