Job Summary:
The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide health care services to patients under the direction of a ENT physician. In this role, you will work side-by-side with ENT physicians to provide comprehensive care from initial consultations and diagnostic procedures to post-operative management. This role demands a clinician who excels in a fast-paced environment, providing diagnostic, and preventative healthcare. You will play a key role in optimizing patient flow and maintaining our standard of clinical excellence for all patients.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Examines patient, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis or decides on follow-up procedures.
- Administers and orders diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interprets test results.
- Diagnose and manage ENT-related conditions under the supervision of a physician.
- Perform in-office procedures such as ear lavage, nasal endoscopy, flexible laryngoscopy.
- Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment.
- Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients, and records progress.
- Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
- Develop and implement treatment plans and recommending procedures.
- Assists physician with emergency treatments and more complex procedures.
- Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Ensure compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated competency dealing with all age groups including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of a four-year physician assistant baccalaureate program and a year of clinical training, or;
- Completion of a two-year accredited physician assistant program (which requires two years of undergraduate study) plus two years of clinical training following completion of PA program.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
- Frequent exposure to chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, and patient body fluids.
Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
