Full Job Description

About Us

The Institute of Dermatology & Oculoplastic Surgery is a physician-led specialty practice providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services. We are dedicated to precision, compassion, and excellence in patient care. Our practice combines dermatology and facial plastic surgery expertise in one setting, offering patients a unique, multidisciplinary approach to skin health and rejuvenation.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a passion for dermatology and aesthetic medicine to join our growing team.

Job Summary

The Dermatology Physician Assistant plays an essential role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care across a range of dermatologic and aesthetic services. The ideal candidate will be skilled in clinical assessment, diagnosis, procedural care, and patient education — and will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive skin examinations, obtain detailed medical histories, and accurately diagnose a wide range of dermatologic conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and prescribe appropriate medications.
  • Perform minor dermatologic procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, electrosurgery, and laser treatments under the supervision of a board-certified dermatologist.
  • Assist in Mohs surgery and post-operative wound care as needed.
  • Administer and manage cosmetic dermatology treatments, including Botox®, dermal fillers, chemical peels, and laser resurfacing (training may be provided if needed).
  • Provide patient education on skincare, sun protection, and management of chronic skin conditions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation using Modernizing Medicine (EMA) — proficiency is strongly preferred.
  • Collaborate with dermatologists, oculoplastic surgeons, and clinical support staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain high standards of infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality.
  • Participate in continuing medical education and remain up-to-date on current dermatologic and cosmetic treatment trends.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Current NCCPA certification and active state license in good standing.
  • Minimum 3–4 years of dermatology experience required (medical, surgical, and/or cosmetic).
  • Experience assisting with Mohs surgery or complex dermatologic procedures preferred.
  • Proficiency with Modernizing Medicine (EMA) or similar EMR system strongly preferred.
  • Excellent diagnostic, procedural, and patient communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Strong teamwork and time-management skills in a clinical environment.

Why Join Our Team

  • Work alongside board-certified dermatologists and oculoplastic surgeons in a collaborative environment.
  • Diverse exposure to medical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Professional growth opportunities with hands-on mentorship.
  • A modern, patient-focused practice culture that values quality, education, and innovation.
