Central California Faculty Medical Group (CCFMG) is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join an enthusiastic team in the Trauma (TSS)/Acute Care Surgical (ACS) Division that serves the growing population of Fresno, CA at Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC).

Being the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the Central Valley of California, CRMC serves a diverse patient population. CRMC is a teaching institution affiliated with UCSF Fresno’s surgical residency program, making it an ideal environment for learning opportunities and professional growth.

The ideal candidate will be ready to join an enthusiastic growing team that is focused on providing exceptional patient care under the supervision and guidance of the attending trauma surgeons. They will be self-motivated, teachable, and have a team-oriented mindset. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and applying critical thinking to patient care. The PA/NP will be responsible for fulfilling various needs of the TSS & ACS services including rounding on surgical patients at all levels of care, ordering and interpreting laboratory and imaging studies, implementing therapeutic interventions, and performing bedside procedures.

Shift: 14 shifts a month, 7 on 7 off

Job Responsibilities:

  • Majority of care is inpatient (~90%), with post-op clinic care (~10%)
  • Examine patients, perform history and physical examination(s), and review medical records
  • Evaluate home medications and restart as appropriate
  • Maintain appropriate electronic medical records based on department policy
  • Work in collaboration with attending surgeon(s) to perform daily rounds on patient’s admitted to the trauma and acute care surgery services
  • Order and interpret laboratory and imaging tests
  • Appropriately Prescribe Controlled Substance(s) (Class II – IV)
  • Perform bedside procedures including tube thoracostomy, intubations, central venous catheter placement, arterial line placement, foley catheters, IV’s and wound vacs

The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation may be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors. Actual compensation may also vary based on additional services, including call coverage, administrative services, performance bonus, and/or productivity.

Requirements:

  • Current or Eligibility to obtain a California Physician Assistant License
  • Graduate of ARC-PA Accredited Physician Assistant Program is required
  • Certified or in process NCCPA Certification
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
