Full Job Description
Associate Therapist (AMFT, ACSW, APCC)
Build Your Career. Become an Exceptional Therapist.
Location: Covina & Ontario, CaliforniaPosition: Full-Time | W-2 Employee | Hybrid
Please apply only if you currently hold a California BBS-issued AMFT, ACSW, or APCC registration. Candidates with approximately 1,500+ supervised hours completed toward licensure are preferred.
Become the Therapist You Always Hoped You’d Be
Some practices hire associate therapists simply to fill schedules.
We hire associates to build careers.
At Together Family Counseling, we believe the years before licensure shape the therapist you’ll become for the rest of your career. That’s why we’ve built a private practice centered around mentorship, clinical excellence, collaboration, and professional development – not simply accumulating hours.
If you’re looking for a place where experienced clinicians genuinely invest in your growth, where you’ll gain confidence treating a wide variety of clients, and where you’ll be surrounded by people who enjoy helping one another succeed, we’d love to meet you.
Why Associates Choose Together Family Counseling
Many associate therapists come to us because they’re looking for more than just supervision.
They’re looking for:
- Better clinical guidance
- Meaningful mentorship
- A collaborative team
- Opportunities to grow professionally
- Support from experienced supervisors
- A workplace where they feel valued
That’s exactly what we’ve worked hard to create.
Our goal isn’t simply to help you complete your hours.
Our goal is to help you become an outstanding therapist.
Many of our associates have successfully passed their California licensing exams on their first attempt and credit the supervision, consultation, and clinical experience they received at Together Family Counseling as an important part of their professional development.
Learn Alongside Experienced Therapists
Unlike many practices where clinicians rarely interact, our therapists regularly consult with one another, share ideas, and learn together.
Because many of our services are provided in person, you’ll naturally build relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and leadership throughout the week.
Many clinicians tell us they didn’t realize how much they valued being part of a supportive team until they experienced it.
We believe therapists grow faster when they don’t grow alone.
Join an Established Private Practice
When you join Together Family Counseling, you’re joining an established and growing behavioral health organization – not a solo practice trying to expand.
You’ll benefit from:
- Dedicated administrative support
- Established referral relationships
- Reliable client referrals
- Structured onboarding
- Experienced supervisors
- Modern, welcoming office environments
- Professional systems that allow therapists to focus on therapy rather than administrative tasks
Focus on Therapy – We’ll Handle the Rest

We provide:
- Full caseload typically established within 30–60 days
- Steady referral stream
- Administrative scheduling support
- Insurance billing
- Electronic health records
- No marketing required
- No community outreach requirements
- No transporting clients

Helping people.
