This job description is for a Hotel Maintenance Technician (sometimes referred to as a Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Worker). Based on the specific duties you listed—such as completing 3 brand-mandated preventive maintenance checks per day and maintaining trees.
Role Overview
The primary goal is to ensure the hotel’s physical structure, grounds, and guest rooms remain in “like new” condition. You are essentially the “first responder” for any mechanical, safety, or aesthetic issues on the property.
Key Responsibilities Breakdown
- Guest Service & Safety:

- Greeting Guests: Act as a friendly face of the hotel.
- Security Protocol: You must never open a guest room door for someone who forgot their key; they must be redirected to the front desk for verification.
- Room Inventory Management:

- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Complete exactly 3 room PMs daily as required by the brand standards.
- Quick Turnaround: “Out of Order” (OOO) rooms must be repaired and returned to the front desk inventory within 24 hours to avoid revenue loss.
- Facility & Grounds Upkeep:

- Critical Systems: Daily inspections of HVAC, elevator pits, and pools.
- Exterior Care: Beyond standard repairs, you are responsible for landscaping, including trimming palm trees and keeping the dumpster area pristine.
- Compliance & Safety:

- Fire Safety: Equipment rooms and fire panels must be clear of obstructions at all times.
- OSHA/HazCom: You must use Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) kits when working on electrical systems to prevent accidental startup and injury.
Common Qualifications
