Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join our vibrant healthcare team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeon both in and out of the clinic and OR setting.

Previous experience recommended.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including medical history review, physical examinations, and vital signs assessment.
  • Assist in orthopedic surgeries by preparing patients, managing anesthesia protocols, and performing intraoperative tasks such as suturing and wound care.
  • Administer injections such as corticosteroids and dermal fillers, utilizing aseptic techniques to ensure safety and efficacy.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations including radiographic interpretation, diagnostic testing, and data collection for clinical research purposes.
  • Manage acute pain through appropriate interventions like nerve blocks or medication administration while monitoring ventilator support if necessary.
  • Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide patient education on injury prevention, post-operative care, and rehabilitation strategies to promote optimal recovery outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant with valid state licensure and NCCPA certification.
  • Proven experience in orthopedic settings or surgical assisting, with familiarity in hospital medicine or outpatient clinics.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with suturing, injection administration, and aseptic technique; familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes.
  • Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform physical examinations, triage patients effectively, and manage acute care scenarios including airway management and ventilator support.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems for accurate documentation and billing; experience with medical records management is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient assessment discussions and interdisciplinary collaboration; commitment to patient-centered care. Pay: $73,399.38 – $130,000.00 per year
